What is CS Web Team Society?
Computer Science Web Team CS Web Team is an organization composed of Computer Science students in different year-level. The main objective of the organization is to help CS students to participate actively in different activities that the society will have for this may help the members to become a competitive professionals and to be prepared to face the IT world in particular. It has elected officers to do planning and appointed to do the implementation from the plans agreed for the society’s improvement.

Who are required to join?
Students who are currently taking web-related programming development subjects e.g. Computer Science and Internet Fundamentals, Web Programming, and Object-Oriented Programming are requested to join the organization for the society perceives this will help the students in enhancing their skills since the society will conduct seminars and tutorials about programming and any other related activities. The society is open for membership to all BS Computer Science students. Students from other departments aren’t allowed to join the organization. 
 
What are the roles of the officers?
Officers of the society act as the strong-pillar of the organization. They build and shape the society by encouraging their members to cooperate energetically to whatever activities that the society is going to have, and also, through meetings headed by the officers, plans will be listed clearly. Planning includes what will be the activities that need to be done, how it should be done, when and where it will be held, and who are required to join. Officers are in-charged to do the over-all tasks for the development of the society. The tasks are divided according to the said position of a certain officer.
 
What are the benefits of the members?
One major benefit of the member who joined the organization is that he has a chance to improve his programming skill if it is his will. Members will be trained also in designing, making animations, as well as on how to communicate effectively with other people. He has the chance to meet other members inside the organization and from other organizations who are participating activities actively.

Last May 25, 2010 around 2pm in the afternoon, Adobe CS 5 lunching seminar, held at the 3^rd floor of AIM conference center manila, started. All of the attendees were given a bag contained the product listing, the programme, and a clapper. There was a free coffee also for everyone.

The seminar was divided into several topics. First was the designing capability of the new Creative suite. They had introduced some new features about the new Photoshop CS 5 that are really amazing. Few of these features are the capability of removing a part of an image but not the background, moving an object and its surrounding will follow, and making 3D text easily. Some examples of these features are if you have an elephant image, you’ll be able move his nose if that’s what you want to do, and if you want to remove a person from a picture, you can do that in CS5. Second was on webdesigning, Adobe updated their Dreamweaver so that it can emulate different browser viewing the project website. Added new Adobe Flash Catalyst and Adobe Flash Builder both engages in building animated websites easily, less codes, and just a drag-and-drop of the mouse. Third was on video productions of the Adobe After Effects and Premier Pro were discussed. All of which make video editing simply e.g. if you want to change a background of a scene, remove video impairment, and speech to text recognition. Lastly, a raffle game was played. Conductors had given $99 to the participants who answered their survey form correctly and found the difference between pictures in the picture game.

CS Web team didn’t win the raffle yet the society enjoyed watching the different on-hand presentation of the  features, video sample, and getting some freebies from the Adobe Group. Thumbs up to CS5!

A 2-day tutorial conducted by Sir Ruel Bermudez, husband of Prof. Raquel Bermudez, was offered to the CS Web Team officers. It was composed of 2 consecutive Saturdays opening at 9 AM down to 5 PM and was held at Computer Science AVR turned Computer Science Conference Room. The tutorial started on the 3^rd day of July and followed on 10^th day of the same month. 

Most executive officers are taking techno-entrepreneurship this 1^st semester and the subject is tackling PHP scripting. It would be a great help for them if the organization will hold seminar parallel to the vision and mission of the team that will assist, especially them since they are Web Team officers, to familiarize as well as to master the said scripting language. The event was made probably for the same reason. For the 3^rd year officers taking PHP subject, Sir Ruel Bermudez & and Prof. Raquel dedicated the tutorial especially to them.

During the meetings, 3^rd year officers were all present consistently. Sir Ruel discussed first what PHP is all about. Next the basic and advanced functionalities of PHP e.g. conditional statements, looping statements, array and PHP connecting into a database using MySQL were discussed. He also prepared exercises for the attendees doing it on the spot as well as assignments that were done at home. The objectives were to make sure that the participants learned something, that they wouldn’t forget what had been discussed, and to discover more tips and some hidden functions of PHP. Everyone enjoyed and learned so much from the tutorial.

 On the 2^nd meeting, during the break and after the tutorial, a birthday treat happened. It was from our ever hardworking, comical and sweet adviser. A celebration for her another birthday, she brought foods for lunch and dinner to everyone. A surprised presentation from the officers was obtained during the dining and Ma’am was glad for it. It was a video presentation contenting of Ma’am’s happy moments together with the greetings coming from the officers. Officers secretly collected a contribution too for Ma’am’s gift. All in all, the gathering was another remarkable occasion that everyone won’t forget. Reygie P. Iglopas

CS Web Team generously helped the preparation for the 1^st ever theatrical celebration for the 20^th year of existence of the Computer Science Department in Adamson University. It was dated last July 31^st year 2010. This time around, the “CS GOES MUSICAL” as it was also the theme of the event. July 30, the decoration for the stage began and continued the following day. Morning on July 31^st, officers came to do the unfinished tasks. Registration was handled by the CS Web Team and started at 1PM. ACOMSS requested the officers of the team to manage the Pick a Prize game since they were busy organizing the event’s program. The request was granted. After registering, the student was optioned to pick one piece of straw. A paper was inserted to it to reveal the prize. Fortunate students received a t-shirt from Sun Microsystems, Traveler’s Kit, Netbeans Installer and Boy Abunda’s Gift Pack. Unfortunately, students who got “Sorry, try again next time” remained glad since the flow of the registration was quite impressive since WebTeam officers completely provided laptops to make the registration’s flow at ease. Exactly 2:30, the registry was closed. At 3PM, the AVP prepared by the WebTeam was presented. Everyone was amazed while the video was playing because the effects were truly fantastic. Thanks To Eduardo Mascariñas Jr., WebTeam’s Auditor, for that video. After the AVP, each officer came to the stage with adviser, Ma’am Raquel, just to show up and bow with gladness. After, the Creative Team performed live during the event by singing as a rock band. The occasion became a successful one all because of the help of our beloved CS alumni, friends & sponsors.
